First Baptist, Bennington, announces worship for Sunday, July 4, 2010
Monday, June 28, 2010 at 03:12PM The First Baptist Church of Bennington, Vermont, invites you to attend worship this Sunday, July 4, 2010, at 9:30 AM. The service features hymns from U.S. Christian traditions: “I love Thee, I love Thee”, a hymn from Jeremiah Ingalls’ 1805 Christian Harmony collection, the familiar “America the Beautiful”, and the spiritual “Let Us Break Bread Together”. The Rev. Jerrod H. Hugenot, coordinating minister, shares a word about the importance of the separation of church and state and the U.S. tradition of supporting religious freedom. An attended playroom for children, toddler to age 10, is offered during the service.
Following worship, coffee hour is offered afterwards in the Colgate Hall. As part of the morning’s theme of supporting religious diversity, the coffee served comes from the Thanksgiving Coffee Company, a fair trade cooperative from eastern Uganda uniting Jewish, Christian, and Muslim coffee growers in economic and interfaith collaboration.
